Summer’s Almost Gone – Pool Theme Party Ideas

The August sun, the southern heat, and small town monotony… The summer’s coming to its end, as well as the euphoria. The music is quieter, the sun is lazy, and colors tarnished. The concrete is boiling with the expectance of grand closure that one party will be the peak of the season, and grow into an urban legend. You can almost hear the exquisite sound of the pool theme party.

“Come on in, the water is so refreshing!”

Marilyn Monroe is laughing coquettishly in George Cukor’s swimming pool, making movie history, only a couple of weeks before her glamorous death. What an epic, phenomenal entrance of a small, ordinary family pool in the world of art deco, bacchanalias and glittering parties, which made Cukor famous in Hollywood. The sweet smell of desire, sin and tragedy, in more elegant times! Invoke the theatrical and glistering Hollywood nights. Pull on your silk glows, light a cigarette and, with a Manhattan in your hand, welcome your guests.

The Hollywood sparkle brings together all kinds of people. There will be unscrupulous millionaires, dashing actresses with broken hearts, rich and intoxicated widows, and ambitious beggars. Here’s your chance to invite everyone you know, and see what happens. Your acquaintances will, with their masks on, show who they really are, or will they?

The glamour is in its full glow when the light is dim. The play of light on the landscape of faces is what creates sophistication at its finest. The gleam of the water will, like a chandelier, make a truly cinematic experience, so, beside your pool, you won’t need much else. All that’s important for your atmosphere are the LED lights for your pool, to make an evening entirely enchanting. Bring in the floating LED pool fountain with sprinkles of red-illuminated water, light up a few candles and let them drift gently across the pool. Once the twinkling of the water and a cigarette smoke provoke the imagination of your guests, the party may begin. Clang with your crystal glasses and serve gin for the gentleman and martini for the ladies.

Betty Draper’s giveaway

The end of the summer smells of a lemonade, beer and unaccomplished love. No matter if the summer flings are over, or they are coming strong until Labor Day, use the few days you have left for playing a happy family. From today’s perspective, suburbia role playing brings an exciting thrill.

This party starts in the late afternoon, and brings together lovers of various kinds. Unhappy couples, attractive neighbors. Dominant husbands will enjoy your hot dogs and beer, splattering their feet in your pool. The girls in their Sunday dresses will get together in a cheerful chat, and the boys will flip the burgers. What’s unauthentic is that this party doesn't end with kids’ bed time. It starts in the evening, when everyone is full and even thirstier.

For this kind of amusement, you need a grill, red and yellow ketchup and mustard squeeze bottles, as well as pu pu platters. If you bring them all to the edge of the pool, you wouldn't have to leave the refreshing water. Chill out and watch a football games from the inflatable sofa, with two hot girls by your side. The sight of your high school girlfriends with their patterned bathing suits and heart shaped glasses will remind you of how sweet life is, in the unique, American dream way.

Midsummer Night's Dream Party

This kind of party requires a major luxury, because its real theme is actually debauchery. It’s a little harder to throw it in a family pool, so try your best and bring your party to somebody else’s swimming pool. It can be your filthy rich cousin, or simply the cool guy you clean the pool for, the one that is conveniently never home. And don’t feel guilty, for that gorgeous pool is rarely used and completely forsaken. If by chance it is one of those infinity edge pools, even better!

The difference is in the details

Epic parties are unachievable without a pool for many reasons, the main one being – casualness. Firstly, everyone will be pretty much nude (making the pool water's cleanness a top priority). Besides, putting on a mask and relocating to a more entertaining and hip era makes theme parties memorable enough.

Mid-life Crisis Solutions – Get Yourself a Pool

So, you are considering purchasing a pool, and, in fact, you have your carefully kept cash for materializing such a thought. Well, your story is not so hard to guess. You are for sure in your forties, you spend a lot of your precious time driving to work, and the social peak of your day are those couple of minutes you spend chatting by the water cooler? The question is – who’s waiting for you to come home after a hard-working day?

Charlie Harper syndrome with no Malibu house

You’ve been working hard and non-stop since college, but you don’t have anyone to share your money with, and on the weekends you’re just lonely? Either you just got out of a painful divorce, or you still haven’t found your own personal Rose, you need something that is going to make your twenty-two year old girlfriend feel like a fish in the water (and not simply metaphorically)! Let go off that tanned Hispano-American that has been doing your lawn and reminding you of your long gone youth, and make way for a pool!

Even if you’re less fond of joking about your middle life crisis, you’ll have to admit the efficiency of owning a pool, and not for one single reason.

On your family picture

Your pool should be a member of your family! If (and only if) Charlie Harper ever decides to get married, how ideal would it be for him to do it by the same pool he first kissed his bride to be in? If your pool contact provides you with a sparkling fountain or a raindrop waterfall, and drench your pool in rose petals and floating lanterns, you’ll get a glorious wedding – unique, cost-effective, glamorous and enchanting. This leads us to scenario number two.

Family weekend in Boca

The beginning premise is the same – you are driving home from a long exhausting day, and you stay in your garage for a couple of minutes longer, guessing what’s waiting inside. Your sweet wife chariot is tired and angry, the kid’s food is on the ceiling, and your dog is waiting impatiently. Suddenly, your newlywed plan doesn’t look so charming. Remember the time you drove to Cabo, drank martini and kissed all night long in one of those vanishing edge pools, with your enthusiasm disappearing with the horizon? So bring Cabo to your family home (minus the infamous feasts)!

Play Marco Polo!

What’s more important than their laughter? The fun is endless, and mutual! If you install a basketball set or volleyball net and you put a couple of burgers on the refreshment float, the possibilities are limitless. A well equipped pool will, believe it or not, drag your kids away from the computer. Your seven year old will be healthy, and, at the end of the day, exhausted from physical activities and positive energy. The pool is, probably, one of the few ways to make your teenager be in the same place with his old folks for several hours. Your lady is going to be relaxed and satisfied, and, apart from that – half naked. For a whole day, you will soak up the sun, rejuvenate, and once again fall in love with your family.

Save some money for your red Lamborghini!

On the long run, the pool is a keeper of your bank account. What are the things you will save up on? First of all, the pool is your main summer fling, for the sea is not so far away any more. You’ll have it all – your friends, fine drinks, barbecue smell, and whatever it is that you need for a great family vacation. In the middle of July, the air-conditioning will be unnecessary, and you will still be cozy and comfortable. You’ll save up on your gas, for your parents, relatives and friends will be racing to your house in flocks. You will no longer need the gym or the spa. In fact, knowing that your pool is always prepared and clean, the weekend will finally be your resting time, with no need for leaving your house.

And this is MY crib!

We live in a time of aesthetics  but the desire for what’s beautiful doesn't have to make us superficial. The mind, soul and inspiration are feeding on the aesthetics  Your garden doesn't have to be only beautiful – it can be your own statement. Make your own theme and live in wherever you feel a natural part of. Hire a decorator and a pair of handymen, and convert your pool into petite Disneyland for your kids – fill it up with slides and pirate boats. Arrange your private Nevada/California borderline pool, plant a few palm trees, put on heart shaped glasses and enjoy an inflatable lounge with a Dachary on a straw. Feels like you’re in David Lynch’s “Wild at Heart”, right? Let your pool speak instead of you.

Tuck in your pool!

If you don’t already have a housekeeper in charge of your domestic chords, you’ll have to know a few things about maintaining your pool by yourself. Servicing your pool implies more diligence and less money. If you welcome it in your family, you have to take care of it, too.

First of all, the pool requires sanitation.

Pool water should be kept purified of bacteria and similar undesirable substances, so you’ll have to get familiar with pool pumps, mechanical filters and chemical dispensers.

While unused, the pool should be covered.

Covers can be of different types and multiple functions. Primarily, they maintain the pool temperature, and prevent the water from evaporating. This way, you’ll reduce your heating costs a lot. In addition, they keep your pool bacteria-free and a level of hygiene high. Ultimately, they serve as a safety net.

If not the covers, you should consider pool heaters, perfect for enjoying your pool through the cold winter months.

Find out for yourself!

After all, whatever the inconvenience the middle age crisis has brought up on you, the pool is going to be your best friend, whether as a wingman or a family therapist. Inside a pool, or beside it, you’ll be relaxed, rested, healthy, and looking cool. The manner in which the pool will improve the quality of your life, physically and psychologically is simply priceless.

The Laurel Canyon Pool House

When an Eastern European girl dreams of California, summer is all she sees. With her uniformed umbrella and rain boots, she is eager for the Los Angeles Sun. There is a certain kind of yellow, pale but warm, that appears only on California postcards. Its piers and sunsets, like the 8 track camera footage, shine bright as high school boys’ eyes. In the heat of the morning, she braids her hair and through the alluring haze, wonder to her dream-house in Laurel Canyon.

First, she painted it red, and framed it in wood. Then, she tore down the walls and made floor to ceiling windows, planted cacti and lemons, and made her own glasshouse. The soul of her home, however, is her garden, expanding into the wild lands.

Wherever you are, you can make your own Laurel Canyon garden. It’s the place of bonfires, music and love. For designing your personal peace of this heaven, you will need some tips.

The Love Street

Laurel Canyon architecture is recognizable for different kind of residential styles – huts and shacks, bungalows, or American craftsman houses. No matter which one you choose for creating your nest, they all have a mutual bohemian touch, and that’s what you should focus on. In this rustic neighborhood, the calendar is still on the 60s, so let yourself loose and play with wood, colored glass and other natural looking materials. This will be your house of the rising sun, your summer resort, and therefore, you can get rid of the ceiling and sleep beneath the stars, or simply, move your bed outside, to your garden, which is the shiniest ornament of the house

This garden is filled with memories. It’s everything that’s Californian, artistic and synergetic. Everything that’s dear and close to the heart should find its place in this garden, so you will have to put some thought into decorating it. And did I mention you’ll need a swimming pool? The water is our only natural state, the supreme giver of peace and quiet, and a meeting place for friends and lovers. In order to go along with your country fashion, the swimming pool and the garden should emerge into creative unity.

The spiritual power of water

For creating a unique hippie habitat, your swimming pool should be more of a pond, than anything else. This “artless” look you can achieve with a couple of tricks. First, the pool will have to be one of those free-form pools, without any regular shape. By free-form, I mean go all the way through! Make really deep curves, which will make an illusion of a coastline with little bays. This way, you can make it flow freely through the whole garden. For a more authentic appearance, you can bind separate parts of it with little water canals recreating creeks (which make great places to hide pool filters, by the way). The most diverting part is a small peninsula everyone will fall in love with, for it will be an innate extension of your garden. The peninsula will be the perfect gathering place for those August nights filled with shooting stars. In the place of such a relaxing and creative gathering, the mandatory item is an outdoor fireplace. In your little spiritual lair, the fusion of earth’s different elements, such as fire and water will make an atmosphere even more intoxicating.

The sparkling trails of shooting stars and fire fume will be even more bewitching with a little dim light. You have no need for crazy LED light shows or so – the only thing you need is beauty in its simplicity – candles. Put them everywhere and leave them floating on the surface of the pool water. With a few lanterns or garden lamps you will have the warmest summer ember light.

With this kind of solution, your pool won’t need a tiled or paved deck, anyway. Its edges should be disguised with grass, rocks and soil. One of the Laurel Canyons trademarks are yellow brick roads you can recreate with a tile lane in same color. The convenient way of solving the swimming pool entrance issue is making stairs out of roughly cut rock panels. Those rocks can serve for creating a waterfall, as a final touch. There aren't many sounds as soothing as the rustling sound of water falling into the pond with a great splash.

Sway and huddle

That pretty much tucks in your pool, so now you should consider its environment. The Laurel Canyon house is, as they say, "a eucalyptus-scented canyon". Everything organic and breathing should find its oasis here. The Subtropical-Mediterranean climate allows for an unimaginable variety of colors, scents and sounds. For colors and scents, get your work on planting! With only names of these endearing flowers – fairy lantern, woolly Indian paintbrush, scarlet larkspur, sunflower, California poppy, coffee berry, chocolate lily, California pearly everlasting – you can be sure that you’re growing an enchantingly wild surrounding for your backyard pool. Some of these you can plant into adorable vintage jars or regular flowerpots, and don’t be afraid of their size! You can arrange them all over the pool edge, and they will bring the bouquets only California can give birth to.  If your garden is wide and vast, you can sprinkle it with lemon or bamboo trees, and everything you've done so far will be useless without some palm trees, for swaying palms are the Eiffel tower of Los Angeles. For sounds, besides the resting sound of water splash, you should find an old aviary, and let it fill with birds.

After all that, you can (or don’t have to) organize your swimming pool garden with appropriate furniture. Ligneous coffee tables and wicker chairs are the only perfect choice for putting beside your swimming pool. For all day swimmers, you should acquire some additional pool supplies deck chairs, rafts, and split a hammock between those lemon trees for ideal relaxation.

In this lovely house in Laurel Canyon, real life awaits. And what a life it is! With almond milk and fresh oranges in a grocery shop bag, you will always come back home to your bookshelves and Joni Mitchell records. Among them, the dreamy Trip Fontaine boy will be making you pancakes in the kitchen.

Step out on the patio, put some fresh sunflowers into the table vase, freely take off your dress and jump into the swimming pool.

Healthy and Fit with a Swimming Pool

Have you heard of a cat named Holly? You can see her every week on the Virginia Pet Resort swimming pool, putting on her lovely life jacket, and with a frown, entering the water. This thirteen-year-old black and white cutie has been diagnosed with animal obesity, against all her efforts to go on a diet. Being a cat as she is, Holly decisively refused cutting down her meals and since she’s not a big athlete, her owners came up with a solution. Coming to notion that their kitty has no problem with taking a bath, they put her in the swimming pool and made her start a whole new regime of exercise. And Holly actually enjoys it!"

Overweight and obesity problems have become the nightmare in today’s world. The lifestyle of nonstop office work and carpooling unleashed a long chain of negative effects. The lack of time, fatigue and discontentment are just a few of the reasons why modern man is receding in depression. Once you glue yourself to the living room couch, you cannot be unglued from easily. And it’s intimidating how contagious it is! It won’t be long until your parents, kids, and your pets join you, creating a grotesque, alarming image.

The united forces of sun and water

If only there was something to save our time, by being a permanent financial investment simultaneously. What could it be that can, with not much money or time, relax our body and mind, and set us in some physical motion? It’s necessary for something like that to be within the reach of our hand, in our house, or maybe in the garden. Can’t it be a swimming pool and how would that affect our body and health in the long term?

With a well equipped swimming pool you can finally break that chain. Can you recall, even vaguely, that sweetish and long gone feeling of vacation? The time you can spend with your family and friends on the beach, with the sound of waves and a bunch of August grapes? Girls fit their skinny dresses, and boys grow stronger. Start from the basics and include water and sun to your everyday routine. By only floating in the water, you can pacify your spirit and release it of stress. Push to the surface with your legs, spread you arms, and let the water carry you – the muscles are relaxing as well as the mind, until you become one with the swing of waves, recreating your prenatal state. You can see it as hibernation, a Zen, nirvana, or the closest you can get to flying. The undeniable thing is the way it resets you again, and again. The sun, on the other hand, inebriates you. Stern in its relentlessness, like a temazcal, the sun can relieve you of what’s unnatural and unwanted, in an almost mystical way. With joint forces, the sun will extract all that office, money and frustration scent onto the surface and the water will wash it off. As a result, you get a smiling face, a tight stomach and an irresistible craving for fruit.

If you’re not much of a dreamer and you can’t imagine yourself living on a beach, make your own personal one in your home. The swimming pool will please you financially, psychically and health wise. Financially, it will free you of running to the gym, giving a lot of money for what’s supposed to be healthy food, and unreliable diet products. Not having to worry about money will affect your mental health, for one, and that’s not the only thing the swimming pool will do for your psyche. Health wise, the possibilities are inexhaustible. But let’s just focus on weight loss issues for now.

Prevention, better than a cure

For starters, you’ll need a swimming pool not only for losing your weight, but to prevent gaining it, as well. If you decide to invest into a healthy life like this, be sure that you are putting it into effect daily, and for that you’ll need a lot of good will and determination. And once you get used to it, it would never be enough. So, however tired you are from work, allow yourself an hour of complete relaxation in your swimming pool. Make your prevention, for starters, therapeutic. After a couple of laps to activate your muscles, (no matter how tired you get during the day, keep in mind that the tiredness comes from your head, and your are still passive from all day sitting in front of your computer and inhibiting during the meetings), finally recharge with a little hydrotherapy. Turn your pool into a spa resort, put some music on, and feel your body grow thaw. With this kind of routine, your evenings will be more productive, and your dream deeper. Of course, this will require you to keep your pool clean and keep it healthy as well.

Swim harder!

If the time of prevention has long passed, and your pounds became a concern, dedicate a little more time to your pool. Most importantly, don’t let that become an imposition, for it should be your everyday need. If you want to work on your body, swim harder! Motivation shouldn't stop on the go, for it’s your most productive pusher, and the greatest one is certainly competing with yourself. Use a stopwatch. Count your laps by the potential of your muscles (don’t overload them), and measure your time. And have your goal in your sight constantly. Most frequently, beginners quit early out of disappointment of not seeing the results after the first couple of training sessions. With swimming, you can lose up to 20 pounds, but not overnight. It all depends on your persistence and swimming routine. The faster your swim and the more time you spend in the pool, the results will be quicker and more favorable for you. The ideal routine would be thirty-minute training on a daily basis.

Another obstacle you will have to face is post training hunger. If you treat yourself for a hard work-out with a big, spicy meal, you’ll just annul previous efforts. For that reason, it’s advisable to regulate your eating habits before you start with your training. Reduce your nutrition to a few smaller meals that will keep you recharged and full during the day.

The most awesome thing with the swimming pool, although logical, is less known. Any exercise you do in the pool is going to duplicate the results you’ll get with doing it regularly. The greatest kept secret about it is – the water gives your body extra resistance, like having a set of weights while training. With only walking through the water, you’ll be tightening your muscles. You can get a video for home exercise, and apply the same workout in the pool. If you want your training to be more strenuous, you should find more difficult workout regimes online. You can combine them with a swimming style that fits you the most. In case you get a couple of training accessories, like weights, fins or a fitness board – even better!

Sunshine, water and good old military training will surely make you feel better. With pound dismissal, you’ll become addicted to a healthy life. You will want your healthy spine to carry your kid on your shoulders throughout its favorite concert, and the great feeling you’ll have with your body will give you self confidence and certainty. And since you’re going to be healthy even in your old days, all the swimming pool advantages will serve you for a long, long time.

Easy Tips for Redecorating your Swimming Pool

Once you get a good deep look into the clear water of a garden pool, and, like in the mirror, meet your plane suburban image of yourself, you’ll feel tired and washed out irretrievably. It’s time for a cardinal change, you’ll think. So bring out your hard earned money, and invest in some diversity. Buy a pair of red leather pants, a hard core bike, and start an adventure.

To change your concept of life means to change your surroundings. Since your floral suburbia house is your lovely wife’s domain, (and you don’t want your lady to get angry), focus on your bachelor appearance. A car, your wardrobe or TV set should be a reflection of a younger and more satisfied you, but nothing will tell inspiring and hip like your swimming pool.

Engage!

You will not get far with flipping magazines in a waiting room, so get some initiative. Search, measure, and make a few appointments. In order to spruce your pool, behold some tips! Those splendor swimming pools collected from some of the most exotic and distant parts of the world cannot be recreated entirely, but just a hint of them would reverse your perspective radically

Crossing the Red Sea

Wherever you are, a land like Thailand will always be on the other part of the world. It is the land of spirituality and meditation and at the same time one of the most sophisticated and luxurious experiences. Those two are forever merged, never to be parted. The dream-like scenery of sunsets and coconut trees are one swimming pool and decorating lesson away from your family home. The colors are red and blue, one implying the cultural background, and the other a glace body of water. The materials are wood and cotton. Everything you need is a red umbrella, a pair of deck chairs in matching color and unique tiles for your pool. If you paint them bordeaux and bronze and make them the bottom of your pool, imagine the shades you’ll get with a wiggle of water on a light breeze.

Fireflies in the garden
If you’re more of an atmosphere kind of guy, eager for ethereal and shimmering evenings to make your life companion’s big blue eyes even lovelier, then you’ll be particularly fond of this one. Any place on Earth with stars and jazz music can suit the experience this swimming pool creates, especially in the evening. The magic trick here is the lighting. Everywhere across the bottom of the swimming pool, arrange little LED lights of different colors, and that will do it! Plant a beautiful palm tree and buy a simple set of garden chairs to put them on the deck of the pool, and serve a glass of wine with an exotic cuisine dinner on a table between them. Everything about it will say a movie-like date on the seashore.

The wild beauty

This one can make a really impressive image if you own an indoor swimming pool, however ordinary it is. It’s more of a last minute idea than a thoughtfully planned design. The concept is pretty unusual, though. Explore and find one of those long forgotten landscape wallpapers, and, for this notion it should be a landscape of mountains covered with snow. Fix the wallpapers across all available parts of the walls and step into a winter spa resort! Every time you lounge in the pool, the marvelous view of Switzerland will make you feel like you are drinking tea in the hot, bubbly tub. For even more enjoinment, buy an inflatable raft and relax all day long.

The Art Nouveau

The royal experience of middle Europe with your swimming pool will be vivid and strong once you meet the unique design and pale colors of thermal spas. The trademarks of what once were Turkish baths are massive pillars, and high cupolas, all of which will be really hard to recreate in your home without some serious financial investments. Until then, you can have fun with some other recognizable details like mosaics of bright colors, marble statues or visages. The one of a kind style mixture doesn’t end here, and it allows a spark of French fin-de-siècle, transiting into decadence. In homage to that, frame some old posters of Moulin Rouge or a reproduction of The Scream, and make your indoor swimming pool walls an art gallery.

Passport unlimited

Nothing says American as a good old kidney shaped vacancy motel swimming pool. And the most iconic one is certainly the pool-border between the Golden state and the State of sin. With only one swimming lap and no documents needed, you can cross from one state to another. For reduplicating this pool in your home you’ll need no effort and very little money. Simply take waterproof paint and draw a thick black line across the bottom, with two inscriptions on both sides – on the left Nevada, and on the right California.

La Cuesta Encantada

You’ll hardly get enough money to purchase an actual façade of a Roman temple and put it on the deck of your swimming pool, but you can surely imitate it with different materials. Even if you consider this to be too much, you’ll love the new Greek attire of your pool if you paint it with matching ornaments. The Greek revival white marble gives the most refine touch under the boiling sun. Along with the pool, the marble is used for magnificent splashing fountains and stunning sculptures. Lanterns made of alabaster are the soul of this ancient little world. Take a dive into your family garden pool, and with sounds of laouto, emerge on the coast of the Ionian Sea.

*

These unrepeatable decors will revive your swimming pool in the most classy and fashionable manner. Show it off to your friends with style over a glass of some drink or a big neighborhood party, or enjoy it jealously on your own during the long, soothing baths. Whatever the case, your old pool will continue to be your faithful ally and a greatest reflection of your satisfactory life.

Retiring? Get a pool!

When you finally pour your after work whisky and take a deep tired sigh, you will know that that over-long expected day has come at last. Your co-workers were really thrilled for the strawberry cake, and a few of them even noticed that you left the party first. You got your thank you and goodbye acknowledgement, and an expensive retirement watch and got sent off into the rest of your life. For just too long, you have imagined it as a day of victorious dance, and now, you are utterly scared of the unexpected and all-consuming void. So you drink 100$ whisky, contemplate your Pacific Palisades view, and leaning over the edge of the unfamiliar gasp. Completely exhausted, you ask yourself “What’s next?”

Well, there are varieties of answers, and since you've been a money making machine all your life, you can afford all of them. Go to a Thailand pilgrimage, make a movie, plant a vineyard, or give yourself something you will enjoy for the rest of your days. Fill that terrifying gasp with a soothing body of water.

Once you have settled on that idea, you shouldn't make it into your everyday outdoor swimming pool. This brainstorm of yours is supposed to be a perfect representation of your riffed and inspiring life. With that in mind, pour another glass of your favorite drink and design the pool by the measurements of your own persona.

The Basics

The first item you should take care of is the shape of the pool. Custom shape is necessarily conditioned by the terrain and the material you choose. (Concrete pools can be shaped however you choose, but the fiberglass ones come in already constructed molds, so the choice of shape is limited.) The most popular forms are the classic ones – rectangle, kidney or free-form  Since you want your pool specifically designed, you can certainly customize its shape. The uppermost seductive forms (and the editor’s personal choice) are so called negative edge pools, or infinity edge pools. One side of this beauty is left hanging, creating an illusion of leavening water. It would be a sin not to have an infinity edge pool if you already have a ravishing panoramic view, for those two will just merge into each other, in cohesion infinity (hence the name).

Deck

What follows are decking solutions. You should not regret leaving your afternoon splatter more than you have to, and the feeling you get when stepping out of the pool should be unique as well. Therefore, pave the deck with chic door stone, classic stamped concrete, patterned tiles or, for an authentic feeling of a ship deck, wood. The diverting option would be fixing stone shingles all over the lawn, creating interwoven rocky lanes. The diverse scents of different materials, once they are wet, create a delicacy for all senses and complete the designing experience.

Lights

On a starry night, your swimming pool will need its spot in the flickering landscape of Los Angeles. Number among colours and shades of light, and make your pool radiate. Interesting ways of lighting can define the design you chose entirely, or subtly make a change of theme. Some of those lights can be manually dimmed, or extensively brightened into a strobe light or a LED light show for special occasions.

Fence

Another thing you should consider is enclosing your pool, since this is a precaution required by the law in many states. A swimming pool fence is not going to bring creativity to your design, but it’s a necessary evil, particularly if you live in a crowded neighborhood or/and have under aged kids.

Water Features

You’ll certainly have great time picking various water features, for they are the diamonds in your swimming pool crown. They should set the mood, invoke an epoch or destination, and represent your lifestyle and fondness.

Fountains

For a baroque effect, enrich your pool with fountains off all kinds and grandeur. With that style, you shouldn't be afraid of a little kitsch – make them cascading, multipartite and magnificent. You can go simple, and put a splashing fountain in the middle of your pool. As a variation of form, get an invisible device for creating a simple fount, so that you can bring it to life with multicolored LED lamps.

Waterfalls

With the diversion of water, trigger a more artless and authentic atmosphere. It includes as much waterfalls as you can get, and those massive reproductions of natural springs, with water inter-flowing from the top, through the stones, and into your pool with a rustling and relaxing sound. The special challenge of it is to make your pool environment into the beach, and the solutions are numerous. You are going to need some pebbles to throw in the fountains and on the deck. If you can find some rough cut boulders of rock, just let it lay around as a really native looking detail. Complete that with a lot of straw – on umbrellas, deck chairs, and your cool summer hat.

If you choose your pool to come with stairs, instead of zero entrance or steel ladders, you will make it more open for a lot of interesting designs. The stairs can be really long, and in that way replacing the whole edge of the pool, and making a cozy and refreshing place for hanging out during the long summer days. You can project a wide gap between stair levels, and arrange them in more irregular and cumulative ways, and let the water freely fall over them, or even spring from underneath every stair level.

In order to get a calming waterfall effect, you can do a couple of things more. You can get truly great appearance if you have the water spilling trick, which some fountains or statuettes are really suitable for. The trick is in making a bulky bowl lightly leaned towards the surface of the pool that fills it with water that’s going to a kind of spill out of it. The same, only more stylish effect you can achieve with amphorae or fancy statuettes holding a jar or a jug.

Other features

Depending on the shape and size of your pool, you can improve its design even more with some distinctive characteristics. If you have some money left, you can build a little grotto above one part of the pool, separating it for more exclusivity and privacy. The lighting options are inexhaustible and hunting in their possibility for emphasizing the atmosphere.

To go with such an atmosphere, an unavoidable item is an outdoor fireplace, for those special bonfire, marshmallow and blanket nights. If you have a free-form swimming pool, design a cute little island in its middle, especially for this purpose.

However you decide to ornament your swimming pool, better than any other journey or expensive gift you can get yourself, it will accompany you in a gentlemanly style for the rest of your days.

The Infinite Edge

Where and why?

When your favorite grandma got her cozy little room tasseled with flowers in a lovely retirement home, she left you with her miniature country house, the one you haven’t visited for years, since you were a child. These days, it still has that sweet scent of herb tea, and it’s surrounded with pine bosk. If you think there is a place like this anywhere else, just look at the moon, indecently big and yellow, and a wild lake you used to swim in as a youngster. Endearing and savory, your grandma’s house has been neglected due to your rapid modern life. But what if this dusty old house returns its unusual spark? Untouched nature, greenwood, water and stars can be a promised land, and your personal Shangri La.

For all the lotus eaters and dreamers tired of society, grandma’s house is a priceless jewel. It will twinkle in the night like your prom date’s earrings. A crackling fire, good company, exotic food and forest scent, just like in summer camp, are going to fan the flames of your love for nature. You’ll wish you’d never have to go back to the city again.

In order to light up your traditional house with its full glow, you’ll have to polish it a little. And what sparkles brighter than moonshine reflecting in limpid water? Right between a pair of fir trees, next to a currant bush, spread the swimming pool. This will not be an ordinary one, because this magical house deserves a magical pool. And the magical swimming pool is the one that disappears into the horizon. Come to know the infinity edge pool, a pool that makes the garden become vibrant.

A word about installation

The infinity edge pool is a rare and exotic beauty “born and raised” in Versailles, France. With in-docile French nature, this pool cannot tame its flow, so it releases it over the edge, creating an illusion of infinity. Luxurious as they are, infinity edge pools require specific conditions, a lot of your attention and a big bundle of money for the very beginning.

Planning

For starters, their installation can’t be reduced to simple architecture, and it needs careful planning. Since this beauty is delivered to very high altitudes, most frequently a mountain slope, or somewhere on top of the hill, a precise structural scheme is implied, and it unavoidably depends on geologic estimation of your land. Mechanically, a building plan is much more complex than regular pool plans, for a couple of reasons.

The catch basin

The essential difference is that you’re actually building two basins instead of one. The first one is your main pool, and the second is a supporting one that goes beneath the main pool, with a specific purpose. That basin is the place all of the water that’s coming off the edge of your pool interflows in, and is pumped out into the main pool again.

The communication

Being a novelty in swimming pool structuring, their installation often results with irreparable flows, which finishes with fat lawsuits. For that reason, be sure what kind of relationship you’re entering. Firstly, the communication with your swimming pool installers must be flawless. You’ll have to explain exactly what you want, and be flexible to accept their suggestions. Even then, you should do a little research of your own.

The weir wall and the check valve

The most problematic spots of this pool are, with the exception of the basin mentioned earlier, the weir wall and the check valve. Unlike regular pools walls, this one is in direct contact with water on its both sides. As a result, the same wall must be waterproofed twice, and all that with a different kind of material for every side. If that’s not properly done, the water can degrade the concrete and knock down the wall. The second problem can appear with flooding, and that’s why you’ll need a specially made check valve, which prevents the leakage of water from the main into the catch basin once the circulation pump is off. As a backup system, for the time the check valve also fails, you should build in a vacuum breaker that will keep the water in the main pool leveled. Without these necessities, the water will leak into the catch basin entirely, causing an unatonable flood.

Redecorate!

But if you ask me, taming this kind of beauty is going to pay off, especially if you’re a spirit of aesthetics and atmosphere. Just imagine all the possibilities it will bring to your rustic little garden. During the summer months, this pool will bring together all the traditions that nature lovers, like you, enjoy. So make the most of what redesigning your swimming pool demands, and make some changes. Firstly, paint your house into a dark, romantic tone, a color of pine or ripe raspberry. Then, graft the wild flowers from your garden into massive clay flowerpots, and style them with branches. Find an old bike, clean it of cobwebs, varnish it and let the garden liana climb all over it. Segregate the most comfortable part of the garden for a place to spend the long summer nights with your friends and the sound of a guitar. There will be many stories told and memories made, so do everything to make that experience as authentic as possible. Use natural materials and cover that part with a wooden floor, and decorate it with antique, handmade carpets. For chilly evenings, bring out cozy wicker armchairs and a lot of pillows and blankets. Put some fresh cookies and a bouquet of snowdrops on the wooden table. The absolute must have in your pool house is an outdoor fireplace you can build near the swimming pool. Warm, bubbly water and the burning of embers will complement each other in a perfect, savage way. At the same time, this fireplace will replace the summer kitchen and grill kit.

Then, pay attention to the pool. Since its natural beauty is more than enough, it won’t suffer a lot of ornamentation. The weir wall of the pool is a perfect place for lounging, so the swimming rafts and other inflatables won’t be necessary (and they will needlessly violate your rustic concept). With that, you can install easy chairs directly into the pool. This will make an impression of lounging on the same level of the water surface, right underneath the incandescent mountain sun. Once you start rendering, you can use some extra material for redesigning the pool deck. Mix it with some sand and pebbles and the area around your pool will become a genuine beach. For a special feeling you can get only when camping on your favorite lake, recreate some childhood games, and hook a Canadian tire on a branch that outflanks the pool. If you want to make that feeling even more interesting, discuss with your swimming pool installers a construction of an aquarium that you can fill with colorful fish. After you have done all this, put some thought into pool lightning. The infinity edge pool is your garden’s brightest star, and you should allow it to shine to its fullest potential. Still, you can help with some subtle LED light, if you arrange it carefully across the pool bottom. With blue and golden luster, it will be like a flock of fireflies possessed your garden. Stick a couple of lanterns into the flowerpots and light a candle on your wooden table, and you’re finally done.

For winter periods, when the snow covers your beautiful little lake, you can turn the pool into an exclusive spa resort. With a proper heating system and bubbly water, you’ll have a closest thing to a hot tub. You’ll be splattering in your swimming suit all rosy and warm, drinking hot chocolate, with a winter landscape all around you.

*

To say thank you, what remains to be done is to frame the photograph of your adorable grandma, and place it on specially created floating board, in the middle of you pool, along with tangerines and a diving kit. Your infinity edge pool will glitter with its uniqueness and domestic warmth only a lake house can provide.

A Clean Pool is a Safe Pool

This article is dedicated to all those who are fortunate enough to be able to say that they are proud owners of a swimming pool. With a pool you get all sorts of benefits. You can relax like a king (or queen) in a pool, it is great for your spending time with your family and friends and, finally, it contributes to your overall health and body shape, since swimming is one of the best exercises out there. But, at some point, everyone who has a pool has to cope with all sorts of maintenance problems, and it is important to state that if you don’t keep your pool fresh and clean, you will end up with some infection, or disease, and no one wants that. In the text below, I will provide you with some info on how to prevent that from happening.

Since technology is beginning to be a human’s third hand, and people have come up with all sorts of gadgets throughout the years, one can conclude that there are gadgets and technological thingamajigs, that are used to do the pool maintenance process for you, so that you can focus on whatever else you want to do. There are also various chemicals and other products that are used for the same purpose.

Water Cleaners are the first on the list. These devices do exactly what their name suggests. They are substances that are poured into the water, and they just, simply, devour all the bacteria and algae that are bound to show up in the water, if it stays situated at one place for some time, like in a pool. Apart from health reasons, clean and clear pool water helps you in your work out, because, if you want to swim properly, you have to be able to see through the water, so that you can control your strokes with more ease.

Water Filters are also very necessary. These are devices that are installed in the pool itself, and they are connected to several pumps that pump the water from the pool into them, they take out everything that is unhealthy and unnecessary from the water, and they pump back just the clean water back to the pool. With water filters, you don’t have to worry about cleaning the pool that much, but you will have to clean these filters from time to time.

Water Heaters also have a very straightforward name – they control the temperature of the water. These devices are mostly used in spas, where the water is hot and used for relaxation. With them you can adjust the temperature of the water so that it is just the way you like and there will be no more reluctance before entering the water because it will be, nether to hot, nor to cold, but rather, just right.

Salt Chlorinators are chemicals that keep the level of both salt and chlorine in the water at a normal and desirable level. Some people like to have salt water in their pools. If your pool is covered in stainless steel, however, make sure that you avoid these products, because they can damage the stainless steel, by doing the impossible – staining it.

Tiles are neither a device, nor a chemical, but they are very good for keeping the pool clean. This functions the same as the tiling in the bathroom, so I will not elaborate on the subject very much. I will tell you that you can choose to create a mosaic tile pattern, just because it is very beautiful and it will add a lot to the overall look and feel of your pool. And if the pool is clean, the pattern will be better displayed, logically.

To sum up, with everything that I have said, you can create a picture in your head and realize that, with proper pool maintenance, and a quality pool design, you will be able to enjoy all the fruits that come with owning a pool. As I said at the beginning, if you are reading this article, you are most probably, a proud pool owner, and I will leave you with this: since you are so lucky to have such a commodity on your home, be responsible and tend to it as much as you can, because everything else is, simply, inconsiderate.

Keep Balance in your Swimming Pool!

Often have I wondered if buying a swimming pool is a good idea? But then, it hit me – why not? Having bought a swimming pool I created the paradise I have always wanted to have in my backyard. First of all, it was easier for me to just get up in the morning, and jump into the pool without the necessary preparation I would usually do if I would go to the public swimming pools in town. Just a towel and a pair of trunks and there you are having fun and getting in shape at the same time. Secondly, I started developing all kinds of muscles and my back straightened significantly, since I suffered from scoliosis and constant back pain. It’s very important for kids nowadays to go swimming or just be in the water, because they daily spend from three up to ten hours sitting in front of the computer and playing video games. Their spine starts to curve and they can experience muscle atrophy. However, I don’t advise sending them to public swimming pools in your town, since the process of cleaning them is unknown to you. Sometimes, people who work there add a big amount of chlorine – much more than necessary - because it is a much cheaper way to kill all the bacteria, than buying the proper chemicals. I recommend buying your own pool instead. By doing so, you can clean and maintain it just the way you see fit, and in the same time you wouldn't have to worry about your kids, since they will be under your control.

That is enough about health problems. Owning a swimming pool has its fun side. For the past few years, I wasn’t able to go on vacation and rest properly. But, luckily enough, I organized several pool parties which made me relax and forget about the work I had to do. All of my friends suggested that I should do this more often and I responded – why not? It was much cheaper than those fancy hotel parties and there was no one to yell if we were to splash water all over the place or walk around the house in bikinis and trunks. Finally, since buying pools has become popular nowadays, their prices significantly dropped. Although I do not own a swimming pool where real races can be held, I find it big enough for my daily exercise and for parties with friends and family. On the other hand, if you have a yard where a big pool can be placed, you can cheaply have one, if it is the basic rectangular shape and if you do not buy unnecessary accessories, such as pool lamps, decorations or mini-bars. Even that kind of pool is still better than taking a swim in a public one, and exposing yourself to potential danger of getting an infection or smelling like chlorine.

Although owning a swimming pool is a lot of fun and enjoyment, there are several precautions that are required to be done in order to prevent issues related to your health and to the pool itself. Water in swimming pools may, sometimes, lack proper chemicals or minerals. However, these two things are sometimes in excess, thus causing the imbalance. In order to solve these kinds of problems, you need to use water purifiers and other similar pieces of equipment. There are, for example, water purifiers which disperse copper and silver into the water and maintain its quality. Swimming pools can also contain non-living waste products which, in combination with chlorine, can produce by-products, harmful to your skin or lungs. In order to avoid this, some ozone must be added to the water. Ozone is added by ozone generators, which use oxygen from air and convert it. Of course, some of the chemicals can be added manually, and there are several types which can be bought at pool supplies stores.

To sum up, it is not any more a privilege of just rich people to own a swimming pool and everyone can afford one nowadays. Swimming is the basic for a healthy life as well as a good way to fight boredom. But, although it can prevent many diseases, it can also be the source of certain ones if it is not kept clean, and the amount of minerals in the water is not balanced. So, pay attention, and everything will be cool as a swimming pool!

Why to Get a Swimming Pool

If you already have a nice house with a beautiful backyard, the only thing you are missing is your very own swimming pool. What could be better on a hot summer day than spending it by the water in your own back yard. There are many benefits of owning your own swimming pool and in this article I'm going to present some of them.

     Improve your social life.
Having a pool in your backyard can be a great advantage when throwing a party. Just imagine how good it would reflect on your social life. You could become the most popular person in the neighborhood and make tons of new friends. You could even create your very own theme park with all the slides and toys available which will improve your ratings with your friends, and your friends' children.

It adds beauty and value to your home.
When you have a swimming pool in your backyard, it is not a backyard anymore. It is an oasis and your own outdoor resort. If you add waterfalls and vanishing edges, it becomes the most beautiful landscape around. It also adds value to your home for about 15 percent, which is a great thing if you want to sell your house sometime in the future.

Spend quality time with your family.
Time spent by the pool with your family is very far from wasted. You could teach your children how to swim, which is a great exercise for the young ones, and it can be done from a very young age or, you could just kick back and relax with your spouse, which is a great relief for the older ones.

     Stay fit.
Swimming is one of the most beneficial exercises. It works every muscle in your body, without affecting your skeletal system in a bad manner. It is great for the muscle tone and strength. Some new researches have shown that it strengthens the bones also. It improves your flexibility and, because of being a great aerobic exercise, swimming makes your heart healthier and more efficient at pumping which leads to lowering the risk from many heart diseases. It also increases your lung volume and lowers the risk from asthma. Swimming is the best way to lose weight if you consider the fact that only ten minutes of swimming burn up to 150 calories, which is far more than running or lifting weights. Imagine just how easier it would become to get yourself in good shape, when owning a swimming pool in your back yard. You could exercise as much as you want and you wouldn't have to trouble yourself with coming home tired from the workout because you would already be home.

     Stress relief.
Imagine coming home from work, exhausted with your daily schedule and the first thing you do is dip yourself in cool water, have a short swim and a long relaxation. Swimming causes the release of endorphins into your nervous system (the chemicals that are responsible for emotions such as happiness and relaxation) and will make you more focused and in a better mood.

     Get a tan.
Many new researches that say sunlight is bad for your health seem to forget about its’ benefits. Sunlight is directly involved in supplying the organism with enough vitamin D, which prevents some serious illnesses such as cancer and diabetes. Sunbathing has a positive effect in fighting against various infections, because it boosts the immune system, making the organism stronger and more resistant to viruses and bacteria. The best beneficial effect that sunbathing has is on blood, since it maintains the normal level of sugar in the blood, reduces the hypertension, decreases cholesterol and helps the multiplication process of erythrocytes. Sun rays have been proven to provide the organism with many of the important minerals for a normal functioning of the human body such as iron, carbon, sodium and magnesium and, not to mention, the appealing look of naturally tanned skin.

All in all, it is long lasting fun.

When properly built and maintained, the swimming pool provides many years of fun, games, fitness and relaxation for all the members of your family and would make a great present to give to your loved ones and yourself for that matter.

Surviving the hot summers

The summers really tend to be tiresome, don’t you think that? I mean, there are numerous reasons for it, the main being that it is too hot, obviously, especially in this modern climate, where you can’t even stand in the sun for more than a few minutes without starting to wish that you were in a refrigerator. And if that isn't enough, after a bit more time in the sun, you run the risk of getting some nasty burns and certainly a migraine. Of course, it’s the part of the year when we all have a lot of free time, but it’s still almost impossible to enjoy it. It’s simply too hot!

During that time, I’m sure that everyone gets the idea to simply break the social dogmas and jump in the nearest public fountain that you can find! I hope it’s not just me… Nevertheless, you definitely need something to refresh and cool yourself down. Cold beverages can’t help you, ventilators neither, only large amounts of cold water in which to submerse yourself in! That certainly is the best and easiest solution. Yet public fountains are, unfortunately, not really an option.

For me, the best solution is a big swimming pool in my backyard! Wouldn't you agree? It may be expensive, but it really pays off in these long boiling summers. If not just that, than it really is fun. Yes, for children, you may come to think, but we all need to feel like children again from time to time and to just act childlike. We can’t constantly be grumpy old guys, now can we? And there you go, another good thing, you can just relax in your pool and read the today’s paper, if you don’t want to act like the little ones.

Furthermore, for those of you who don’t spend enough time with your family, having a pool would be like being on an extended holiday, and thus you can spend more quality time with your loved ones. That can never be a bad thing, because our families are our lives!

After thinking about all of this, I would gladly get another pool! And if you are thinking about getting your first one, you also need to think about keeping it in good order, so you wouldn't need to buy another one in the near future. First of all think about getting a pool cleaner, it’s essential obviously, because it does what the name suggests. Then think about getting some filters, purifiers and similar devices to keep that water as clean as it was the first day you poured it in the pool. When you get these essentials, think about getting other useful equipment too. For example, some ozone and ionizer systems, in order to purify the water of unwanted and unhealthy chemicals like chlorine, silver or copper, are nice to have. Moreover, one interesting thing comes to my mind, an automation system, a very practical little devise to which you can connect your pool pump, so it can have a control system. Rather handy, isn't it? Besides this, you can get some lights for your pool; it can be very constructive to have one to enjoy a late night swim with your partner - very romantic…

In addition, you can get plenty of other little handy devices for your pool, to enjoy it even more. You can get various chemicals to further enrich your experience and cleanliness, chemicals such as oxidizers, sanitizers, balancers. You can even get some pool algaecides to destroy those little algae spores which we can’t even see, but which can multiply and make a mess in your pool. But I already gave you enough ideas and you undoubtedly get the general picture. So you should just take a look on the internet and you’ll surely find the things you need and a lot of other interesting things.

A hot day can become very tolerable when you have a nice, clean swimming pool. With one at your home you needn't worry about any other ways of refreshment in those scorching days. You can just relax and enjoy the thing that your own, hard earned money paid for, because you deserve it.

What Kind of a Swimming Pool is the safest one?

Have you ever wondered what the best way to decorate your house and its garden is? Do you sometimes look at your garden and notice that something is missing? Well, I had these thoughts too, and I solved that “problem” by buying something that helped me overcome several health issues, and that looks great in any garden.

Owning a pool in your backyard is the best way to remain in shape as well as to be healthy. People who swim on a daily basis are said to be healthier and to live longer. Swimming develops all the existing muscles in your body. The, so called, “computer generation” is simply craving for a good swim. Every kid nowadays, after sitting up to ten hours in front of the computer on a daily basis, suffers from scoliosis, and the best way to prevent it, or even get rid of it is not only through swimming, but just by being in the water. So, if you want your children to get and remain healthy, the best way to do so is by owning a swimming pool. Although you may not be able to afford a real Olympic-sized pool, you can save up for the smaller one, because I cannot think of a healthier way of spending one’s leisure time.

Furthermore, you wouldn't have to go to the swimming pools in your town, which are visited by many people and are, consequently, very unsanitary. On the other hand, you can invite your friends and acquaintances over and have a cocktail pool party, or you can even invite your girlfriend or boyfriend, and spend a wonderful night by or in the pool. By owning a swimming pool, you will be the one who keeps track of its last cleaning or its water temperature. You can never know what kind of people clean those public pools, how much attention they pay at the process of cleaning itself and what kind of chemicals they use. Have you ever had that chlorine smell after being in the public pool for a few minutes? Besides, swimming pools can add a certain beauty to your garden during all four seasons. I like, for example, its look during winter, or even better – during spring. But we must all agree that summer is the best possible season for pool time.

But, it doesn't matter if your swimming pool looks beautiful, or you spend most of your time swimming, your health may be endangered if you do not keep your pool clean. Several cases of death are reported annually by unsanitary water in swimming pools and I should not mention how many cases of serious infection have been reported so far. Maintenance of pools is required in order to both keep it clean and make it, as they say, eye-candy. Dirty pools can be pretty repulsing to your friends and acquaintances (and yourself), besides being unsafe. Without the proper equipment, pool maintenance can be exhausting and time-consuming, especially if the pool is large. But even in small pools there is a lot of work to be done in order to do basic cleaning.

First of all, bacteria are most likely to appear in a pool. Although we cannot see it, it can be very harmful. For such a nuisance, salt chlorinators are used. As you may know, salt chlorinators add chlorine to your swimming pool, thus killing all the existing bacteria in there. Chlorine remains in the water as the sanitizer. Secondly, algae can also cause problems both to your health and to the pool itself. Therefore, you can use the so-called algaecides which will effectively get rid of this problem. Finally, the water itself needs to possess certain minerals, such as calcium, in order to be more comfortable to swim in. Water balance is achieved by buying „pool balancers“– chemicals which contain all the minerals needed.

All in all, people all around the world are deciding to have a swimming pool in their backyard both for recreational purposes and for having a fun time with friends and family. However, in order to enjoy themselves, all of them need to buy a few basic things which will make the enjoyment worthwhile.

Reasons for Keeping the Pool as Clean as Possible

If you are reading this piece of text, you can, most probably, brag about owning a pool, and, when I say brag, I do not mean it in a negative sense, because, frankly speaking, why wouldn't you brag about such a thing. When you are able to afford such a commodity, you must be a well established individual, who is financially stable and there is no reason why you shouldn't feel proud about yourself. But, as Uncle Peter said to Spiderman in the movie: “with great power comes great responsibility”. In order to keep a pool clean and safe you have to invest a bit and put a little effort in the entire process for several reasons. The list is infinite (well, not infinite, but very long) and in this article I will present some of them to you:

1      You can damage your eyes
When you expose your eyes to unclean water often, you will start to feel a certain itch at first, but this infection can develop to have catastrophic effects on your eyes, and we all love our eyes, don’t we? Wouldn't it be silly to damage your sight with something that was supposed to be a fun and healthy activity? This is a rhetorical question.

2      You can damage your digestive system
Naturally, while we swim, we tend to swallow a certain amount of water, and if it is filled with bacteria and algae, let alone some dirt, these little rascals will make your stomach ache for days and days. Apart from being a dull illness (being forced to go to the bathroom so many times), any stomach illness can also affect your working habits, which is bad in today’s world. You could end up losing those precious work hours, and can lead to several bad things, and I will not get into the subject more, because I think you get the picture.

3      You can damage your skin
There are plenty possible skin illnesses that are caused by unclean pool water. Some of them can even leave you with permanent skin marks on your body, and, believe me – it does cost a lot to remove these. You will want to avoid all the pain and itching, because it can be, simply, unbearable.

You should look into this matter thoroughly and determine exactly what you need to keep the pool clean, depending on its properties, of course. There are various pool cleaners and pumps, water heaters, as well as loads of chemicals that are made to wipe out any and all microorganisms that can damage your health in any way. You are not acquiring all these things for your sake only, but for the sake of anyone who uses the pool. Furthermore, don’t you think it is a bit paradoxical to have something that can be used to improve your health, and something quite opposite happens? Swimming is an activity that wakes up all your muscles and makes them work, improves your breathing, your metabolism as well as many other things, but only if the water you are swimming in is healthy itself.

Apart from health related reasons, there are social reasons for proper pool maintenance. Let’s say that you are hosting a pool party for the people from your office, and everyone shows up, even your boss, and, let’s say you have a blast, and everyone is having fun. The next morning you wake up with stomach pains, but you don’t call in sick. You gather your strength and go to work because you are excited and you want to talk about last night, but you come to the office, and everyone is complaining about their stomach. It will not take a long time for a very long line in front of the bathroom door to form. Someone from the office visits a doctor and he or she tells him or her that his stomach is damaged due to unhealthy water that seems to be from a pool. That person returns to the office and says that to everyone. This kind of situation is rather probable and very embarrassing, wouldn't you say?

To conclude, it's nothing but normal to keep your pool clean. Look into the subject thoroughly, do the required research and make sure that everything is done properly. Then, and only then, will you be free of worries.
